This site was originally written in Italian and was obviously intended to give an Italian readership an overview of the history of the English language and, by way of a collection of idiomatic expressions, some of its peculiarities.
Only subsequently did it emerge that the notes on the history of the development of English, and perhaps some of the other pages, might also be of interest to English-speakers, or at least to many for whom an English text is more easily approachable than the original Italian. In rendering the text into English, the author has somewhat adapted the tone for this new audience.
No attempt has been made, at least yet, to translate into English the pages dealing with spelling, grammar and metric conversion tables for Imperial and American units of measure.
